The Washington Greene Health Foundation invests in partnerships that improve health and quality of life across Washington and Greene Counties. We focus on community-driven solutions that expand access, strengthen systems, and support people at every stage of life.

Our Focus Areas
WGHF serves as a regional health convener and intermediary, aligning providers, funders, and community partners to improve local health outcomes. Our grantmaking is guided by four interconnected pillars that reflect how health is experienced in everyday life:
Access to Care
We support programs that reduce barriers to care and help individuals meet essential health needs, including transportation, medications, and patient assistance.
Healthcare Workforce Development
We invest in education, training, and professional development to ensure a strong, skilled, and sustainable healthcare workforce serving our region.
Clinical Excellence
We support initiatives that advance high-quality care through equipment, screenings, preventive services, and early intervention.
Community Health & Wellness
We fund programs that promote whole-person wellness, including mental health, nutrition, integrative care, and family-centered support.
How We Invest
Support of UPMC Washington & Greene
We provide ongoing support to UPMC Washington and UPMC Greene as essential community health partners. This funding helps strengthen care delivery, workforce development, and services that respond to evolving community health needs.
Community Grantmaking
Through Community Grantmaking, we partner with 501(c)(3) nonprofits working across our four focus areas to deliver local, community-based solutions. Community grants are awarded through structured grant cycles.
